Aubry Adams Society of Illustrators Lecture Overviews The First Four Years Lecture ● Sam Wolfe Connelly said that no matter what school you go to you can do well in Illustration as long as you’re drivin. Sam also said that it is important to have professors/teachers in the industry. He views it as a really big bonus and believes it can help you out a lot. ● I didn’t know it was possible to get jobs off of social media. Kali Ciesemier said that she got her two biggest jobs off of twitter from an art director that followed her on twitter. I didn’t even think to make connections for possible job opportunities on social media. ● Victo Ngai said that the time difference between New York and Hongkong was 12 hours. Due to that Victo had to turn away two New York Times jobs because all of their deadlines are within the same day. If she would’ve taken the jobs she would’ve had to pull an all nighter, which was unrealistic for her. She would rather turn the job...
